Pioneer Day
Marissa loved Pioneer Day Celebration at church the other day, so she has been motivated to play Pioneer games and make Pioneer crafts. She took to heart the idea that you use whatever you have available laying around the house- so this was her papertowel doll creation. Pretty cute, huh?
Camp In
Dad and Garett went on a camping trip- so Marissa and Tate were left wanting to do a "camp- in" of their own. Using a new tent my grandmother just gave us and making the Cinnamon Rolls that she had made for us, Tate and Marissa enjoyed a movie in the living room. 
Easter in July
I had the kids go on an Easter egg hunt this week. Yes, yes- it IS the middle of July! It just so happened that Garett was wearing an old Halloween costume at the time. I'm sure the neighbors were wondering what kind of weird holiday we were celebrating around here. 
Extemporaneous Speech
My grandfather gave Tate a topic to speak on extemporaneously. He told him to prepare a speech about his room. Tate was instructed to fill in as many details as he could. He had a limited number of minutes to prepare. He sat down and tried to organize his thoughts- the picture is of the outline he created. Although the outline is a little scattered, we were very proud of how he articulated what his room looked like and the feelings he had about his room.

Doubledipping
Garett and I take our Scrabble pretty seriously, as you can tell. My favorite word was "dip". We liked it so much we did it twice!
