Julie's Cinnamon Rolls

These Cinnamon Rolls are so wonderful. I think of my friend, Julie, when we make them because we use her recipe. Noone makes them quite as well as she does.

Enchiladas

This was my new recipe for enchiladas. It required two salsas (whoo!) and quinoa and spinach. It was healthy and yummy- two things we strive for. I was proud of it- hence, the picture!

Monopoly

Alliances were made. Monopolies were created. The underdogs won. Enough said?

Inventions

Does the crime scene not just say it all?

It was a great idea- a car seat secured (I use that word looseley)to a skateboard by bungee cords. What you don't see is the kids' ATV ready to tow the little invention.

Fortunately, a scraped knee was the only injury.

Growing Up

Marissa told me this week that she has gotten out of the habit of picking her boogers.

Oh, dear!

We just had a babysitter last week-end who uses the phrase "oh, dear". My 8 year old boy has been going around this week saying "oh, dear" this and "oh, dear" that. Oh, dear!

Wax On. Wax Off.

Karate Kid movie night. The original.

Chucks

One foot belongs to me. One foot belongs to my son. Can you tell which foot is mine and which is his? No? Well, that is the problem. The fact that our feet are nearly the same size is just plain wrong!

Raspberries

Sweet lady from church called us to come pick raspberries at her house. This is the "fruit" of our effort...great raspberry jam!

Homemade Lunch

Had to snap a photo of what she actually packed. Her idea of a perfect lunch: a cheese stick, pretzels, strawberries and bubblegum.

Lunch

The kids have been taking swimming lessons. We have to leave from swimming to take Tate to basketball camp- so we have had to pack lunches everyday. I just loved the way Marissa packed her own lunch, labelled it and closed it with a clothespin.

Love

The kids decided to save a piece of their doughnut for me. They figured if they didn't eat a third of their doughnut, then it would be like me having a whole doughnut. Around here, that takes real sacrifice! Especially doughnuts from Country Doughnuts.

Corner Bakery

A trip to Chicago would not be complete without a stop at The Corner Bakery.

Go Blackhawks!

We decided to be crazy and ride the train into Chicago to see the Blackhawks parade after they won the Stanley Cup. It was sooooo fun!

Othello

This game brings back good memories. Kevin and I spent hours on one of our first vacations in Florida huddled over this board. Marissa's expression is one very familiar to me. Garett's smug happiness and sense of satisfaction reminds me of his father's expression after each and every round of Othello. All I have to say to my kids tonight is "I warned you!"
