This is a very exciting time to be Mr. Tate Button. The principal of the local middle school has approved Tate's dual enrollment. That means that Tate can take math class at the middle school while still being home schooled for the rest of his subjects. His new status also allows him to attend DANCES! Friday was Tate's first dance. He tore it up on the dance floor on Friday night apparently! :) Though I wouldn't know- he wouldn't let me go!
The kids got a host of snacks during school store. Because we don't typically have lots of "good" snacks in the house, they were living in fear that their snacks would be eaten. They left Dad notes warning him not to eat their snacks!
Somehow, school store has evolved from just picking up your school supplies to playing games. In this game, Marissa had to retrieve a Lifesaver from a pile of flour.
Tate participated in a basketball camp this summer. On one of the last days, they had an ultimate Knockout competition. Tate won! He brought home a goodie bag of loot! Good job, Tate!
Marissa and her friend decided they preferred selling cookies to lemonade. Then they took them to the neighborhoods to sell! They sold every single cookie!
Kevin and the boys got to go see the US play Puerto Rico at Soldier Field last month. It was a big game. I think it was a championship-type game. The guy on the left, Jared, works for Kevin at GE. He is the president of the US soccer fan club and was leading a huge parade through the streets of Chicago to the soccer field. It was a very excited environment and the boys came home having had lots of fun cheering the US on. They won.
